ABF The Soldiers’ Charity visits Stoll
On Monday 15th August, Stoll colleagues Richard, Beverley and Monica welcomed ABF The Solders’ Charity including Chief Executive, Tim, Director Grants & Welfare, Barney and Director of Communications and Marketing, Jenny to our site at Centenary Lodge in Aldershot. Scheme Coordinator, Anne, helped organise a small cohort of army and RAF veterans to meet on arrival.
Some veterans were driven to emotion and they reflected on their lives before the ABF’s intervention and insist they ‘don’t know where they would be if not for ABF and Stoll’. Important discussions were also had on the future of social housing for veterans and the essential role the No Homeless Veterans campaign plays working closely with Local Authorities. Plans are ongoing to work with our governance and partners to improve housing for veterans in the long term. With many of our veterans now living independently, they enthusiastically commemorated the work of ABF among Stoll’s veteran community.
