Armistice Day & Remembrance Sunday 2022
On Friday 11th November, the country joined to commemorate Armistice Day.
Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation’s veterans gathered to remember those who came and left before us. Chief Executive, Richard Gammage paid tribute to those who have served, those we have lost and reflected upon those still serving.
We were also joined with Years 5 and 6 pupils from St John’s School as they sang Abide With Me accompanied by their teachers and Bugler, Amy, whom we thank for their presence.
Special thanks to Vicar Chris for leading us in prayer and a minutes’ silence.
We also joined the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance surrounded by veterans and colleagues for what proved to be a poignant and vibrantly red evening.
Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph in Whitehall this year was lead by the King for the first time as monarch. Stoll joined the march proudly representing Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation since 1916 and housing vulnerable veterans after the First World War. During the BBC broadcast, Stoll received a mention.
